www.TillamookBay.cc/finaid and follow step 3 under Financial Aid subheading: Manage Your Award. The TBCC financial aid web site is full of resources for helping you manage your budget.
3 Assess Your Placement by taking the COMPASS placement test, another college placement or a previous transcript. COMPASS placement assessments are available in the TBCC Library. Contact the Library, 503-842-8222 ext. 1720 for hours testing is available. The COMPASS test is untimed and computerized. It is not graded nor is it a pass/fail test. Testing is completed in areas of math, reading and writing. Results of the COMPASS test are used to place students in appropriate course levels and to meet prerequisites for specific courses. You must present a current photo ID and your social security number before beginning the testing session.
If you can demonstrate assessment with a previous college degree, college courses, SAT or ACT scores, or other placement assessments, you are not required to take the COMPASS Placement Test.
4 Attend a New Student Orientation. (For new degree seeking students, transfer students with less than 12 credits, or students registered for 6 or more credits.) Sign up for a New Student Orientation session in Student Services at 4301 Third St. Tillamook, or by calling 503.842.8222 ext. 1100, or by emailing burton@tillamookbay.cc. You must have your admissions and assessment finished before attending orientation. You will need to bring your assessment scores with you to your orientation session.
